The AGEC law?

From 2022 the anti-waste circular economy law (AGEC) requires that non-food products (textiles, cosmetics, furniture, electrical products, school supplies, etc.) are no longer destroyed< /strong> by cremation. However, there are exceptions for non-recoverable materials and products that cause health risks. Every year around 630 million euros of products are destroyed.

Is my organization affected by the AGEC law?

If you are a producer, importer, or even distributor of non-food products, you must change your disposal arrangements in order to comply with the law.

UNIFER Environnement meets the requirements of the AGEC law by collecting, sorting and recycling unsold non-food products on its various sites located in Normandy. What are the objectives of the law?

Actors who do not comply with the law are subject to inspections by the Directorate General for Competition, Consumption and Fraud Repression (DGCCRF), which may result in a fine of 15,000 euros.

The law aims to dissipate the linear economy by proposing a circular economy. The circular economy transforms the patterns of the linear economy by offering a new way of producing, reusing, recycling materials and promoting reuse.
